What is a Hydrafacial?

A HydraFacial is a medical-grade skin resurfacing and rejuvenation procedure that offers immediate and noticeable results with no downtime. The HydraFacial treatment is designed to achieve similar results to microdermabrasion and laser exfoliation without the skin damage associated with those treatments.

HydraFacial achieves results through gentle, liquid-based exfoliation, or hydrodermabrasion, rather than targeting and destroying skin cells to stimulate the body’s repair processes like other, more aggressive treatments.

HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment that blasts the skin with specialized solutions to promote lasting results and healthy skin that includes:

  • Vortex Cleansing and Hydrapeel Exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and sebum from the surface through water-based exfoliation -
  • Pore Loosening, which involves infusing pores with a mild mix of salicylic and glycolic acids
  • Pore Extraction, in which pore plugs and dirt are removed from the face through the cleaning and suctioning action of the HydraFacial applicator (Great for blackhead extraction!)
  • Serum Fusion, in which the skin is infused with peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid.

The steps together are meant to completely clear skin while also infusing it with powerful serums to promote long-lasting skin health as well as immediate rejuvenation. Additionally, there are a number of other treatments that can be added on to your HydraFacial to personalize it to your skin’s specific needs.

What is Botox & Dysport Injections?

Botox and Dysport & Xeomin are extremely popular injections and their effects last up to three to four months. During the procedure, a small, thin needle is used to inject the solution into your facial muscles to temporarily decrease the muscle activity causing unwanted lines and wrinkles. It’s quick and only causes temporary discomfort, with common side effects of swelling and bruising at the injection site.

Wrinkle Relaxers can be used in a variety of areas on the face to address concerns or problem areas. At your appointment, we will talk through your needs and recommend the best treatment plan for you. Areas of treatment can include crow’s feet, forehead lines, angry lines (between brows), bunny lines (nose wrinkles), brow lift, and face slimming by reducing the size of masseter muscles.

After your Botox/Dysport & Xeomin treatment, you can resume most activities right away. We advise that you avoid lying down for 4 hours after the procedure. You also shouldn’t rub the area for about 24 hours to avoid any unwanted side effects. Have questions about other activities like exercising?

It may take anywhere from five to seven days for results to appear, and up to two weeks for the full results to be visible.

Can I get botox and a facial on the same day?

Yes! We would just have to do your facial first, and then the Botox/Dysport injections.

How many units of Botox/Dysport will I need?

The amount of Botox/Dysport needed will depend on how many treatment areas you’d like to cover, as well as the size and strength of the muscle. As Dysport ($4.75/unit) is a smaller molecule, it takes more units to achieve the same result as one unit of Botox /Xeomin ($12/unit). The number of units you need will be assessed by your injector during the consult.

Can I get Botox/Dysport/Xeomin if I’m breastfeeding or pregnant?

No, you cannot receive Botox/Dysport/Xeomin injections while pregnant or breastfeeding. We recommend consulting your doctor for more information.

How long do the results of Botox/Dysport/Xeomin last?

Botox/Dysport/Xeomin will begin showing results within 5-7 days of your procedure and reach its full effect by week two. These effects can last between 3-4 months.

Is there a rebound effect when Botox/Dysport wears off and does not go for repeat injections?

No, the muscle activity should return to its original state when the Botox/Dysport wears off.

How many Botox/Dysport/Xeomin treatments are needed before you see results?

The results will be seen after the first treatment. Botox and Dysport take two to four days before the muscle weakening effect takes place. The maximum effect occurs at about 10 to 14 days.

What is the aftercare for Botox/Dysport/Xeomin injections?

Do not rub or the areas of injection for 4 hours post-injection. Do not lay down for 4 hours. Do not work out for the rest of the day.

What areas can dermal fillers treat?

There are several areas on the face that can be treated with fillers to reduce the signs of aging. They include, under eyes, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines) and, of course, your lips.

Do fillers hurt?

Everyone has a different pain tolerance and different areas can hurt more than others. At jsFACE medspa, we use a topical numbing and ice to make you as comfortable as possible.

How long do filler injections last?

The duration of the filler depends upon which filler is used and how quickly each individual metabolizes the filler. Most last from 6 months to one year. Others may last up to two years.

Can I be allergic to fillers?

Allergies to the newest generation of hyaluronic acid fillers are extremely rare, as hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the connective tissue of your body. For this reason, allergy testing is not needed.

How will I know which brand of filler is right for me?

Different fillers achieve different outcomes. At your initial consultation with our qualified medical practitioners, we’ll discuss a personalized treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

How soon will I notice results after my filler treatment and is there any downtime?

The best thing about dermal fillers is that the results are immediate, and you can continue your daily activities without interruption. Swelling may increase, but you may resume your normal activity (including working out!). The most important thing to remember is to minimize how much you touch your face and to sleep on your back if you can. Try not to schedule your treatment close to any special events, as swelling and bruising can occur. We recommend having your appointment 2-4 weeks before any big events.

What is microneedling?

Traditional Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation therapy that is also called collagen induction therapy. This procedure stimulates the production of collagen and generates new skin tissue. This makes the skin smoother, firmer and improves the tone and texture.

Best results are seen when completing a series of 3 treatments that are spaced 4 weeks apart.

This procedure is great for people who suffer with acne scars (including ice pick scars), sun damage, uneven skin tone, large pores, post inflammatory pigmentation and skin laxity.

Does microneedling hurt?

Most people rate the procedure as a 3 out of 10 on a pain scale (0 being no pain, 10 being extreme pain). We use topical numbing prior to the microneedling to make it as comfortable as possible.

What are the effects immediately after a microneedling treatment?

We have answers for all your microneedling questions. If you don’t see it here, contact us 513-871-3223 and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.

BBL stands for ‘Broad Band Light’. It is the next generation of the IPL or ‘Intense Pulse Light’ technology and is safer while providing superior results.

Why choose BBL over IPL?

The state of the art technology in Broad Band Light sets the standard when it comes to photo facial skin rejuvenation. What skin conditions can BBL treat?

This is a safe and versatile technology that can effectively treat a broad range of skin conditions on nearly any skin type. BBL can treat:

  • Sun damage, age spots, freckles and birthmarks
  • Red spots, spider veins, and vascular lesions
  • Rosacea and diffused redness
  • Unwanted hair
  • Active acne
  • Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Will a laser facial be uncomfortable?

The procedure is gentle, noninvasive and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic but your medical provider may choose to use it on more sensitive areas.

What should I expect after a laser facial treatment?

You will experience redness that typically fades within a few hours. Pigmented lesions will darken and gradually flake off and fade over the next 7-10 days. Often your treated skin will feel smoother, fine lines and pores begin to be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your skin’s condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated.

How long does it take to recover after a laser facial?

This is a non-invasive and gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities immediately. What you will not be able to do is have prolonged sun exposure over the next 2-4 weeks.

What aftercare do I need after a laser facial?

It is important to follow your Nurse Practitioner’s instructions. Sun exposure is the biggest thing you want to avoid. If you must go outdoors, it is recommended that you cover your treated skin and use sun block of SPF 30.

What is an acne BBL laser facial?

Our Acne BBL Laser Facial uses a unique three-step process to get acne under control. If you have tried drugs and other over the counter remedies these can now be a thing of the past. FOREVER CLEAR BBL will Kill bacteria, reduce redness and jump start collagen production.

Why deal with the wait and potential side effects of those options when you can have clearer skin in typically just a few short treatments?

What does the acne BBL laser facial process look like?

STEP 1: Skin is first treated with BLUE BBL light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria at its source, deep down in the pores.

STEP 2: Skin is then treated with YELLOW BBL light to reduce the inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin.

STEP 3: For added benefit, the skin is then treated with SkinTyte using INFRA-RED light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process.

What can I expect after my acne BBL laser facial treatment?

Most patients can begin to see improvement to their skin after only one treatment. The skin should look clearer and overall more even.

For optimal results, we recommend you undergo 4-6 treatments, each performed a week apart. Touch-up treatments are also ideal to maintain your positive results and continue fighting acne-causing bacteria.

The number of treatments and rate for undergoing follow-up sessions will vary based on the type and severity of your acne.

What is a SkinTyte BBL laser facial?

Uniform, targeted and deep heating to effectively coagulate soft tissue and tighten skin!

How does SkinTyte work?

SkinTyte utilizes advanced infrared light technology, and patient tailored filters to deeply heat dermal collagen while continuously protecting the treated epidermis with sapphire contact cooling for optical clinical endpoints, safety and comfort. With no need for a topical anesthetic, the energy is delivered in rapid, gentle pulses to promote contraction and partial coagulation of the collagen, initiating the body’s natural healing process, leading to the appearance of firmer tissue.

What areas can be treated with SkinTyte?

The treatment works on any area of the body with mild sagging or loose skin, but popular areas for rejuvenation include the face, jawline, and neck.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a solution that causes dead skin layers to slough and eventually peel away. This restores the skin’s surface, making it smoother, more radiant and significantly improves tone.

What will I benefit from a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are designed to treat a range of complexion concerns, including:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Hyperpigmentation & brown spots
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Sun damage
  • Acne scars
  • Melasma
  • And more!
  • Your aesthetician will work with you to determine which chemical peel formula is right for your needs.
What should I expect from my chemical peel treatment?

Come to the office with a clean face, without any makeup. The chemical peel solution is applied directly to the facial skin and left on for a period of time. The chemical peel is carefully removed and skin is moisturized to help minimize side effects. A hand-held fan is provided for increased comfort.

What are the side effects of a chemical peel?

Side effects can vary depending on the chemical peel formula. However, most patients can expect to see redness, peeling, and flaking. More aggressive chemical peels will lead to intense peeling and flaking for the first two weeks after the initial treatment. It’s important for patients to wear sunscreen and to stay out of the sun in the weeks after their peel.

How soon will I see results after my chemical peel?

Results can vary, depending on the strength of the chemical peel. For mild formulas, results can be seen as quickly as two to three weeks. Many people will return periodically for routine glycolic acid peels to maintain rejuvenated skin. For stronger, more aggressive formulas, patients may not see final results until four months after the initial treatment as the collagen remodels, though the brown spots tend to flake away after 1-2 weeks.
